At the time of claim reporting, IMI will utilize its expertise to determine which resource(s) to utilize to meet the specific potential exposure of each individual incident.

For high-severity incidents, IMI can immediately dispatch to the incident site a local investigator, or if warranted, a local attorney to investigate the loss. Depending upon location, this expertise is typically on-site within one to two hours of the incident being reported to IMI.

In the aftermath of a high-severity event, the on-site attorneys will partner with local supervisors and management by providing legal advice and suggestions for actions during a stressful and emotional time. The on-site attorney can also act as a spokesperson with local authorities and news media. Working directly with the client’s corporate headquarters, this will ensure that the proper message is communicated clearly and consistently.

In addition to providing jurisdiction-specific legal expertise, the presence of an attorney frees up the client’s local management to focus on operational issues, communicate with senior leadership, deal with injured employees, and to provide re-assurance and information to customers, clients, concerned employees, vendors and business partners.

After the event, the local investigator or attorney will produce a comprehensive, report complete with witness statements, photographs, drawings and a discussion of the details of the incident. Using this method, this report will frequently be considered “protected” from legal discovery, meaning that only you, and those you appoint will be allowed to see its contents.
